The TC annually cosponsors the International Symposium on Computer Architecture, and with the ACM SIGARCH, it jointly administers the Eckert-Mauchly Award for contributions to computer architecture. It also cosponsors many other meetings including Frontiers of Massively Parallel Computation, Annual Supercomputing Conference, Annual Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Procesing, and many other workshops. It also helps organize special issues of society periodicals and publishes a quarterly newsletter containing meeteng reports, calls for papers, and news announcement. T04 Computer Elements ----------------------- - is concerned with circuits, memories, I/O devices and systems, and their interrelationships. This includes such factors as performance, testing, microprogramming, software, and packaging as they relate to computer elements. VLSI technology and its system implications are of particular interest. The TC sponsors two annual workshops and one biennial workshop and provides sessions for Comcon. T11 Design Automation ---------------------- - is involved with the use of computer-oriented techniques in all aspects odf the design process, with particular emphasis on design languages, logic synthesis, verification techniques (including digital simulation), manufacturing interface data, graphics, and database management. The TC sponsors the workshop on High-Level Synthesis, cosponsors with ACM SIGDA the Annual ACM/IEEE Design Automation Conference, and publishes the Design Automation TC Newsletter four times a year in Design and Test magazine. T16 Microprocessors & Microcomputers ------------------------------------- - is involved with the architecture, design, and application of microprocessors and microcomputers. The TC sponsors and facilities technical activities accross the disciplines of computer architectures, programming languages, and operating systems. It cosponsors the ASPLOS (Architectural Support for Programming Languages and Operating Systems) Conference, is active in the standard areas through its Microprocessor and Microcomputer Standards Committee and the Bus Architecture Standards Committee. It also publishes a newsletter. T17 Microprogramming & Microarchitecture ----------------------------------------- - is addresses all aspects of microprogramming and its support tools, giving particular attention to microprogramming languages, architectures of microprogrammable machines emulation, simulators, control storage technologies, microprogram design tools, and application of microprogramming. The Tc sponsors workshops, tutorials, publications, and conferences. In conjunction with SIGMICRO, the TC publishes a quartely newsletter. T25 Real-Time Systems ---------------------- - addresses hardware and software issues related to the use of computers in the real-time data systems, operating systems, processing of aacquired data, database management, process control, data acquisition networks, industrial systems, and data communications in both distributed and parallel computinf environments. it organizes and sponsors the real-Time systems symposium and other wokshops on real-time systems. The TC publishes a quarterly newsletter. T28 Simulation ---------------- - promotes all aspects of reserch, development, methodologies, and applicaations of mathemetical modelling, and analog and digital computer simulation. The TC organizes technical sessions at Computer Society conferences and cosponsors the annual Symposium on the Simulation of Computer Networks and Winter Simulation Conference. It publishes a newsletter, which includes technical papers, tutorials on modeling and simulation, book reviews, and abstarcts of current reserach. T30 Test Technology -------------------- T31 VLSI --------- - addresses the interaction between the semiconductor process and system design on VLSI, Emphasis falls on integratng the design, fabrication, application and business aspects of VLSI from both hardware and software points of view. The TC sponsors conferences, special sessions, and workshops for the Computer Society. T29 Software Engineering
